A 520 square metre nuts, dried fruit and confectionery store in Arjan, Dubai, where the stock is the display and everything built has to sit behind it.
Design Approach
A timber lattice runs the full ceiling and an olive tree stands in the middle of the floor, which gives the room a centre to walk around rather than aisles to walk down. Shelving and open bins are black steel, so the colour in the room comes entirely from the food. Brass and cage pendants mark each aisle, and a honeycomb mirror wall turns the back of the shop into depth instead of a dead end.
