The Challenge
A 180 square metre watch and accessory boutique on Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai, planned so the display cases carry the room and the fit-out stays quiet behind them.
Design Approach
Fluted metal columns divide the floor into bays without closing it off, and the shop name is cut into one of them rather than hung above the door. A ribbon light runs across the ceiling and holds the two halves of the room together. Vitrines and open shelving sit at browsing height, with a seated counter for anything that takes longer than a glance.
